Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Waterloo Region
Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Waterloo is open weeknights, weekends, and all statutory holidays to address sudden pet illnesses, injuries, and more in cats and dogs. If you have a veterinarian in the Cambridge area, keep in mind that we are open in the evenings and weekends to take care of your pet, quickly diagnosing what’s wrong and administering treatment.
We are trusted by those in Guelph, Waterloo, and Kitchener when their pets need urgent care. We’re also proud to say that we’re open on all holidays, including Thanksgiving and Christmas. If your pet eats something inedible or gets into toxic human food, you can bring them to us right away.
Handling an Emergency
If you do have a pet emergency on your hands, decisions can sometimes be the difference between life and death for your pet. Despite that, it’s important to not show that you’re under pressure, as it can oftentimes stress your pet out even more.
Instead, you should try to call your standard vet. If they don’t answer, you can either give us a call or bring your pet in. It’s crucial to transport your pet to us gingerly. You should either put them in a box or swaddle them in blankets and let them ride in the backseat. Bring your pet inside slowly, especially in the case of an injury, so you don’t aggravate it further. Once you arrive at our office, we’ll take care of your pet from there.
Regardless of what’s affecting your pet, we will work to diagnose and treat it. Here’s an overview of our services here at the Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Waterloo:
• Chronic illness management and treatment
• Emergency surgery, including anesthesia before the procedure
• X-ray and radiology for diagnostics
• Urine and blood testing
• Intensive care
• Trauma diagnosis and treatment
In some cases, your pet may stay overnight or even for several nights while they’re in our care. Most of the time, you can pick your pet up. the next day if it’s a weekday. We don’t often hold pets over the weekend.
